Codeshare between US Airways and American Airlines to Begin Soon

American airlines in a recent announcement said that the airlines from January 23, 2014 will commence codesharing with US Airways on some of its flights.

Passengers will be able to book codesharing flights on both American and US Airways networks from January 20, 2014. Under this codeshare both the airlines will be selling airline tickets operated by each other using their own flight number and code. Both the airlines intend to offer codeshare on all their flights in the coming few weeks.

The initial phase of the codeshare agreement will be applicable of a few selected flights. Codesharing will be available on flights operated between American Airlines' main hubs in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Miami and Dallas/Fort Worth and US airways hubs in Washington D.C., Charlotte, Phoenix and Philadelphia. Codeshare will also be offered on the East coast shuttle service benefiting the passengers flying between New York LaGuardia, Boston and Washington D.C.
