Universal Orlando will soon get its fifth hotel now. With its new property, the rapidly growing Universal Orlando is all set to become a leader in the convention and meeting market. The new hotel, which will be inaugurated on July 14, 2016, is expected to attract people in a big way looking forward to networking as well as enjoying all that this famous theme park and resort has to offer, particularly roller coaster rides.
Sapphire Falls Resort, a tropical themed convention hotel, is coming up at Universal Orlando. It will comprise of 1,000 rooms. The resort will also have space for events and meetings spanning in an area of 115,000 square feet. According to Universal Orlando officials, a huge meeting complex is set to be created by connecting Royal Pacific Resort’s conference area with that of Sapphire Falls Resort, thus offering a combined area totaling to more than 247,000 square feet.
Universal Orlando will, in fact, be offering nearly 300,000 square feet of space for events and meetings across all its hotels. Both Sapphire Falls Resort and Royal Pacific Resort have ever since 2014 expanded their events and meeting space by above 50 percent, and have thus become the largest convention hotel in Universal Orlando.
Orlando is presently being considered as the top meeting destination in the United States. Travel experts in the country say that the convention-hotel business has been tremendously growing. Whether it’s the DoubleTree by Hilton near SeaWorld Orlando or hotels situated in Rosen Shingle Creek, all are adding spaces for meetings and events. Travel experts also said that it makes perfect financial sense for hotels to mix pleasure with business. According to a study, at least three to four times of the amount is spent by average conventioneer when compared to average leisure tourist. The convention business is therefore seen as something lucrative for a hotelier. All those having huge space and are looking forward to invest, then creating convention facilities is the best thing to do and would also bring good business too.
