Copa Airlines to launch nonstop Panama City-Las Vegas flights June 27

Leading Panamanian carrier Copa Airlines recently announced it will be launching nonstop flights services between its hub in Panama City and Las Vegas starting from June 27, 2012.

Copa Airlines has already put up it air tickets on sale to mark the launch of the new Panama City-Las Vegas route. The new flights will be serving as a connections Las Vegas and cities across South America and Latin America.

Apart from Copa Airlines, nonstop flights between Las Vegas’ McCarran International Airport and the German city of Dusseldorf will start operating from May this year and will run through October. Netherlands air carrier ArkeFly will also be starting seasonal nonstop service for summer between Las Vegas and Amsterdam this June.

Other carriers to launch six new international routes from Las Vegas during 2011, include WestJet Airlines, Volaris and Virgin Atlantic Airways.  

According to Convention Authority Chief Executive Officer Rossi Ralenkotter, 8percent to 10 percent of all international travelers to the United States come to Las Vegas. In 2011, about 16 percent of Las Vegas’ 38.9 million visitors were international. Ralenkotter said that he wanted to see that figure grow to 30 percent in future.
