Cross-country business class flights get bed-like seats

Business Class services on domestic flights have eroded over the years. But, things are different for transatlantic flights where fierce competition is urging airlines to provide the best services to business class passengers. However, this is a thing of past as airlines are now furnishing best perks and benefits to forward-class domestic fliers.

United Airlines launched flat-bed seats called “Premium Service” on every flight between New York’s JFK and San Francisco and Los Angeles. There are 28 BusinessFirst seats on sale that offer attractive facilities including multicourse menu, a service generally reserved for international flights.    

American Airlines recently introduced business class seats that can be converted into beds on its daily flights operating between two California hubs and JFK. It is also offering lie-flat seats with direct aisle access to its first class passengers.

Delta Air Lines has also announced to add lie-flat seats by next summer season on all flights operating between JFK and Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Even JetBlue, known ULCC has introduced Mint, a premium cabin service on specific flights between JFK and Los Angeles. Front cabin of the aircraft has all the 16 seats that recline completely, out of which four have doors that can be closed and converted into private suites. The airline will offer this service on JFK-LAX route from August 3 and on JFK-SFO route from October 26.
