Delta Air Lines adds extra flight between Atlanta and Columbia for UGA’s SEC opener

Delta Air Lines has good news for football fans planning to head to UGA’s SEC opener. The airline has announced it will be adding an extra regional flight between Atlanta and Columbia.

The airline in a statement said that air tickets would be available to avid football enthusiasts for an extra flight each way between Atlanta and Columbia, but this will be only for the next weekend.

The University of Georgia declares open SEC play against Mizzou. The real excitement awaits the football fans when the Bulldogs travel to Columbia to take on Missouri on September 8, 2012 at 7.45 pm. For both schools – UGA and Mizzou – the game is the SEC opener and would be televised by ESPN2.
 
Trebor Banstetter, Spokesman for Delta Air Lines, said that the airline usually adds extra flights to accommodate big sporting events like the UGA’s SEC opener, being held on Saturday, September 8 this year.

Barnstetter said that flying for such sporting events is actually a lot of fun. The planes would be mostly filled with people heading for this big sporting event. This is a great opportunity to see a lot of fellow fans who would also be taking these special flights, he said.
