Delta Air Lines to launch second trans-Atlantic route in 2015

Delta Air Lines recently announced it will be launching its 2nd trans-Atlantic flight in spring next year from its hub at Salt Lake City. The airline said that nonstop flights between Netherland’s capital Amsterdam and Salt Lake City will become operational from 2015.

According to Delta Air Lines, the flights services between Salt Lake City and Amsterdam will start from May 1, 2015. The new service will initially be operated five times every week. However, the airline will transform it into a daily service in the same month effective from May 17, 2015.

The airline indicated that the Salt Lake City-Amsterdam route will be operated on seasonally until October next year. The airline will be deploying a Boeing 767-300ER aircraft to operate flights on the route.
Delta Air Lines said that Amsterdam will become its second European route from Salt Lake City. The airline is presently operating flights to Paris-Charles De Gaulle International Airport from Utah airport.

Liz Savadelis, spokeswoman of Delta Air Lines, said that the new route to Amsterdam is a part of the airline’s planned elaboration at the Salt Lake City airport where its lease has recently been renewed. She said that the airline started operations under the new ten year lease term at the Salt Lake City airport which was renewed in July 2014. The airline also said that it is keen to see the ongoing terminal overhaul program which began earlier July this year. The airline is hoping to do well at its newly-introduced Salt Lake City-Amsterdam route.
