Delta Air Lines to offer optional first class on revamped Roanoke route

Delta Air Lines recently announced the revamping of its flights services operating out of Roanoke Regional Airport.

The airline in a statement that there will be a reduction in nonstop flights to New York because of the slot swap, which has finally taken place between Delta Air Lines and US Airways.

US Airways is stopping its nonstop flights between Roanoke and New York’s LaGuardia Airport being operated thrice daily. However, Delta Air Lines will continue to operate a daily flight between the two cities.

The airline said that it will now be operating a 50-seat Canadair regional jet on this route instead of three 37-seat turbo props flying to New York every day. The airline also disclosed that it has also curtailed return flights, and will operating these on a similar pattern.
 
Delta Air Lines also revealed that it is planning to introduce optional first class flights and will operate a 122-seat Airbus A319 aircraft as one of the six daily flights services between Roanoke and Atlanta. The airline will continue to five other flights on 50-seat regional jets.
