Delta to launch barbecue meals on JFK-Heathrow route

Passengers flying business class tickets on Delta Air Lines are in for a treat. Customers booking flights on its New York-London route will get to experience lavish barbecue up in the air. The airline announced its partnership with Blue Smoke, a popular barbecue eatery.

The deal was inked between Delta and restaurateur Danny Meyer of the Union Square Hospitality Group. Passengers will be able to enjoy the delectable and varied barbecue menu beginning February 2014.

This is the Union Square Hospitality Group’s maiden venture into the in-flight meal service. Passengers will get the privilege to order BusinessElite Express Meal any time during the journey. The several-course menu will be presented to them in one go, letting them, enjoy the delicious varieties at their own convenience.

As per an official Delta spokesperson, business class travelers are looking for a change from the otherwise traditional multi-course meal. She added that these customers are switching preferences towards a brief dining experience.

These meals will be available on three daily flights between John F. Kennedy International Airport and London-Heathrow.
