Delta-Virgin battling AA for premium fliers on NY-London route

The joint venture between Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic Airways which started in January this year is showing a remarkable performance. Delta Air Lines is already on record saying that corporate customer interest has significantly increased ever since it entered into a venture with Virgin Atlantic Airways.

Both Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic Airways have spruced up their aircrafts making them attractive for those preferring to book business class flights. Virgin America has fitted its aircrafts with futuristic bars and mood lighting portraying a hip image enough to lure premium travelers. Delta Air Lines has also revamped its business class cabins and aggressively trying to win over business travelers to London.

Delta-Virgin have upped their ante and trying to grab a major portion of the lucrative New York-London market. Both the carriers are presently engaged into stiff competition with the newly formed American Airlines Group and making their best to woo corporate biggies to fly with them. American Airlines, which has now merged with US Airways forming a new company, has decided to fight back and regain the losses it has made.

The New York-London route is quite popular with the Wall Street executives. These corporate fliers are often required to take last minute flights and are ready to pay for the priciest seats. This has made the competition on the lucrative New York-London route tough and spurred the airlines into action. Significant investments have been made by these airlines to upgrade the business class cabins by providing fully flat beds and satellite Wi-Fi. These airlines, which are eager for their business, have also deployed their best aircrafts on this route.

Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic Airways are jointly offering 9 nonstop flights between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and London Heathrow Airport, while 17 daily flights between the two cities are being offered by American Airlines and British Airways.
