Global hotel chain Aloft has inaugurated its new property in downtown Sarasota. ‘Aloft Sarasota’, a new trendy, swanky hotel, recently opened its doors for the visitors here thus making the hotel scene quite livelier indeed. Jason Samson, Aloft Sarasota’s General Manager, said, “The hotel is likely to see the number of locals visiting at par with the internal guests.”
The Aloft Sarasota hotel will have two entry points. The main entrance will be from Ringling Boulevard, while the other entrance would be from Palm Avenue. The twin entry points have been particularly designed to make the locals feel that they have not been left out and are most welcome there. The lounge area at the hotel has been named “Re.mix”.
It may be noted that ‘Aloft’ is one of the popular brands of Starwood Hotels and Resorts. The 10-story hotel would be bringing 139 additional rooms to downtown Sarasota’s hotel market. The guests residing in one of the 138 rooms would be able to take advantage of a high-rise pool deck situated on the eighth floor. Among other amenities provided at the hotel include a WXYZ bar on first floor, a business center, a 24-hour grab-and-go food bar named ‘Re.fuel’, and a fitness center called ‘Re.charge’.
Samson said, “The room rates during peak season would range from around $250 per night to nearly $400 per night. Aloft Sarasota is though much larger than other hotel properties of Aloft brand. However, all the amenities being offered by Aloft Sarasota are similar to those being offered at other hotels of this famous brand.”
Samson further added that Aloft Sarasota is a unique complex. The walls of the Re.mix area prominently display pictures and paintings from local artists. Local bands would also be brought in at least for four or five days per week. Moreover, all efforts would be made that the locals consider the hotel to be their new hangout and fulfill the need of the underserved downtown Sarasota market, where a shortage of downtown walkable hotels was being seriously felt for several years.
