Dutch Carrier KLM a la carte options

If you thought only business class and first class had the best of the world and buying cheap flight tickets meant giving up on certain luxuries such as on-order food, think again!

Dutch Carrier KLM has broken the myth with the introduction of an a la carte menu for economy class passengers as well. The facility would be available for all intercontinental passengers, after having trialed over the last year. The new menu would include options such as Italian, Japanese and Indonesian dishes, and cost from $17.07.

This new facility will be available from September 14, 2011 and will extend across carrier’s all intercontinental routes leaving Amsterdam; except for flights to San Francisco, Toronto, Tel Aviv and Cairo.

Passengers would have the choice to either go with the regular menu or order the a la carte option from 90 days to 48 hours before the flights.  The menu would include choices such as “Healthy Japanese, Bella Italia, which would feature Italian dishes or an Indonesian rice table.

Passengers can book these meals from next week onwards. For those who have already booked the flight tickets can order meals by logging on to the official site.
