EgyptAir Resumes Flights to Luxor from London Heathrow

EgyptAir, flag carrier of Egypt have resumed their flight service to Luxor International airport from London Heathrow. The airline restored this nonstop flight from February 17, 2014.

This once a week flight to be operated by a Boeing 737-800, will offer a total of 160 air tickets. The main purpose behind reinstating this service is to boost Egypt's tourism. This move will help the Egyptian ministries of civil aviation and tourism render more visitors to the ancient sites of Luxor and for Nile Cruises.

EgyptAir witnessed a significant growth in passengers willing to visit Egypt. In order to meet this growing demand the airline thought of offering Luxor as an alternate airport destination, from where the passengers could begin their onward destination in Egypt. And Luxor will successfully work as a key entry point for Egypt.

Omayma El Husseini, ETA’s Director of UK & Ireland said, Luxor is merely five and half hours away from London Heathrow and by offering this direct once a week flight between the two cities, EgyptAir is sure to stick the right chord amongst the UK travelers.

The airline also resumed its flights to Luxor from Paris on February 15, 2014.
