El Al upgrades business class cabins to New York

El Al Israel Airlines Ltd commonly known as EL AL has a pleasant announcement for its premium travelers. The flagship carrier of Israel said that it is upgrading and refurbishing its business class between Tel Aviv and New York. This news has received a warm response from the premier travelers flying with the airline on this sector.

The airline is upbeat about changing the décor and amenities in its premier class for the benefit of its customers. Beginning May 2014, passengers booking business class flights with the airline will get to experience and enjoy the change. El Al has refurbished the interiors on its Boeing 747-400 planes that will operate on this sector.

Elyezer Shkedy, President, and CEO of the airline said that the upgrade is a part of the carrier’s overall strategy to improve its offering in the premier class that will in turn enhance customer experience. The airline had recently purchased eight new Boeing 737-900ER aircrafts post which it decided to upgrade B747-400s.

The airline will now offer fully flat bed seats to its customers that will help them relax on their long haul journey between the city pair. It has carefully reduced the number of seats in this class to 47 from 49 in a bid to provide more space. Of these 47 seats, 20 are available in the upper deck while the rest 27 are available on the main deck. These seats contain electronic controls. It has also expanded the seat pitch from 193 cm to 196 cm. Besides, the seat width has been also been increased to 50.8 cm.
