Emirates A380 maiden flight to Johannesburg

Emirates Airlines has added Johannesburg in the list of destinations that would be served by its new A380 flights. Landing today at the O R Tambo International Airport, the new flight strengthened Emirate’s long tradition of being the carrier of choice for Africa bound travelers. With this addition, Emirates has added more options for travelers looking for more comfort and facilities in air while flying to Jo’burg.

The addition would also let Emirates meet the rising demand for Johannesburg since A380s would have a bigger capacity. Traditionally, demand for flights between UAE and South Africa has been majorly due to business and tourism. With the addition of A380 flights that would be operated daily, Emirates would look to boost its customer service for Africa bound travelers.

The A380 for the route would be configured with 76 lie flat business class seats, 399 economy class seats and 14 first class private suites. The flight would take off from Dubai at 0440 hrs and reach Jo’Burg at 1050 (local). While returning the flight takes off at 1410 hrs (local) and lands in Dubai at 0010 the following day.
