Emirates Airline aiming to make U.S. one of its top three markets

Dubai-based Emirates Airline continues to be the most luxurious and glamorous airline in the world. The airline is renowned for offering flat beds in private quarters, champagne and lobster, the Zen-like shower spa, personal staff and various other facilities to its customers traveling in first class and business class flights.

A recent study said that the 30-year-old carrier is aggressively expanding into key global markets and is causing immense worries to the leading U.S. carriers forcing them to re-strategize their marketing and business plans and drastically upgrade their service offerings.

Media reports citing a study by the Global Business Travel Association said that business travel is booming. The study indicated that business travel emanating out of the United States increased to $72.8 billion in Q2 2014, up 7.1 percent. This is going to increase further to $292.3 billion by the end of 2014, thus registering and increase of 6.8 percent.

The reports quoting Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, said that the airline is planning to make the United States as one of its top three markets. Presently, the airline accounts for only 7 percent of business in the U.S. The airline is also aiming to add more U.S. destinations to its global network. Over the years, the airline is expanding its fleet on a fast pace and is planning to fly 70 million passengers every year by the year 2020. The airline is currently flying 40 million passengers. Apart from focusing on business travelers, the airline also has grand plans on the anvil for its other customers as well.
