Emirates Airline introduces daily nonstop flights to Chicago

Emirates Airline has launched its new daily nonstop flights to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. The flights from Dubai to Chicago became operational from August 5, 2014.

The airline, while providing the details about its flight schedule, said that the Flight EK235 will depart from Dubai International Airport at 9.45 am and arrive at Chicago O’Hare at 3.25 pm. The return flight EK236 will make its departure from Chicago O’Hare at 8.35 pm and reach Dubai at 7.10 pm next day. The flights will be operated with the help of a Boeing 777-200LR.

Chicago will be Emirates Airline's ninth U.S. gateway. The airline had earlier in March this year launched its flights to Boston. The airline first started operating flights to the United States in 2004 with the start of service to New York. During the past decade, the airline has so far carried more than 9 million passengers to/from the U.S. and is known to carry most travelers between the Middle East and U.S. than any other Gulf carriers.

Adel Al Redha, Emirates Airline's Executive Vice-President and Chief Operations Officer, said that the launch of Chicago route has now extended the airline’s network to the third-largest city in the United States. He said that the route has come as a boon to customers traveling to/from the Midwest to Dubai and onwards to more than 140 international destinations including India, Africa and the Far East.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel welcomed the launch of the new Chicago-Dubai route. He said that the new route would prove to be a significant step to establish Chicago among the top tourism destinations across the world. He said that the city aims to fulfill its desire and reach the goal to host 55 million visitors by 2020. Chicago is presently home to 2.7 million residents and has the 3rd largest GDP in the United States.
