Emirates Airline recently inaugurated its new premium lounge at South Africa’s Cape Town International Airport. The two-level premium lounge is aimed at offering convenience, hospitality and greater levels of comfort to the customers visiting here prior to boarding their flights or after landing.
The new lounge would be offering complimentary access to all customers on Emirates Airline’s first class and business class, as well as Skywards Gold and Platinum members traveling to Dubai from Cape Town. The lounge has been designed to comfortably seat around 123 passengers.
Emirates Airline invested about $2.89 million to build the new premium lounge, which is conveniently situated in the international departures corridor adjacent to the airline’s preferred boarding point at Gate A3.
The new premium lounge at Cape Town International Airport will be Emirates Airline’s 39th lounge in its network of more than 150 global points. Moreover, Cape Town is the 14th destination in the airline’s network where the new lounge concept has been implemented, which includes walnut wood finishes, leather armchairs and Italian marble floors, offering a relaxing atmosphere and creating an upmarket contemporary space.
Apart from Cape Town International Airport, Emirates Airline has six premium lounges at its main hub at Dubai International Airport. Among other international airports where the airline’s dedicated premium lounge are located include Zurich, Sydney, Singapore, Shanghai, San Francisco, Rome, Perth, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, New York JFK, Tokyo Narita, Munich, Milan, Melbourne, Manchester, Los Angeles, London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Kuala Lumpur, Istanbul, Hong Kong, Hamburg, Glasgow, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Delhi, Colombo, Brisbane, Birmingham, Beijing, Bangkok, Auckland and Johannesburg. The airline has invested over $350 million to build these dedicated premium lounges.
Emirates Airline is currently operating twice daily flights services between Dubai and Cape Town with the help of its Boeing 777 aircrafts. The airline has already announced it will be launching a third daily flight service on Dubai-Cape Town route starting from July 4, 2016.
