Emirates Airline’s revenues grows by 25 percent

The Emirates Airline expressed happiness while announcing the significant increase in its revenues recently. The airline in a statement said that its revenues have grown by an outstanding 25 percent from last year to reach US$14.8 billion. The airline reported an increase of 51.9 percent with the profit of US$1.5 billion as compared to US$964 million last year.

According to the airline, the passenger yield increased by 8.5 percent to 28.3 fils per RPKM (Revenue Passenger Kilometer), up from 26.1 fils (7 US cents) last year.

In keeping with its strategic growth plan, the Emirates said that it significantly increased its order for new aircraft during the year, adding 32 additional Airbus A380s and 30 Boeing 777-300ERs. Besides, the Emirates also took delivery of eight new aircraft during the year including one Boeing 777-300ER and seven of the airline’s flagship A380s thus expanding the airline’s fleet to 148 aircrafts.

The airline also said that it continues to benefit from a diverse revenue base, with no single region contributing more than 30 percent of revenues. East Asia and Australasia led the way in 2010-11 with revenue growth of 30.9 percent at US$ 1.0 billion, Europe followed closely with an increase of 24.3 percent at US$ 769 million due primarily to three new passengers’ destinations commencing in the region and increased capacity through larger aircraft.
