Emirates Airlines to provide up to 90 percent discount to employees, kin

Emirates Airlines recently announced it will start offering flights out of Washington Dulles International Airport from September this year.

The airline in a statement said that its employees and their kin, including spouses, siblings, children and parents, will be offered cheap tickets with discounted airfares of up to 90 percent on stand-by tickets. The airline will also be making available half-price fares for confirmed seats.

Sophia Panayiotou, Emirates Airlines’ Senior Vice President of Human Resources Business Support, said that during the process of hiring of employees the airline is asked whether cheap flights at good discounts are included among one of the perks or not.

Panayiotou said that the airline employees start getting free tickets after five years of employment, which can be used by them any time. The free tickets are usually given about two every year. She also said that these tickets can be used to travel to Washington, New York or anywhere else in the world.

Emirates Airlines also stated that it has also signed agreements with other international carriers, including Virgin and British Airways, which honor the airline discounts provided by the company to its employees.
