Emirates join forces with WestJet, Canadian low cost flights operator

Emirates have joined forces with WestJet, a prominent Canadian low cost carrier to let customers fly to over 114 global destinations on a single ticket.

Emirates flights flies thrice weekly on Toronto and Dubai route, while no-frills carrier WestJet caters to 20 Canadian cities. Under the deal, passengers on either airline can travel to any of Emirates 114 global destinations on a single ticket. The move is a sign of fresh efforts by the UAE carrier to secure a bigger slice of the lucrative Canadian market, after Emirates and Etihad Airways were last year denied additional landing rights by Ottawa.
