Emirates scraps first class, launches new two-class Airbus A380

Leading Middle East carrier Emirates has finally acted on its plan and scrapped its first class on its new Airbus A380 aircraft. The airline has fitted its new aircraft with business class and economy class. Emirates launched its first ever two-class Airbus A380 during the recently-concluded Dubai airshow. The airline has planned it to be the world’s largest plane with expanded economy class seating with a total of 557 seats.

A spokesperson of Emirates said that the new Airbus A380 aircraft will accommodate 130 additional seats in economy class. Moreover, the number of flatbed seats in business class has also been reduced.

Customers planning to book business class tickets for travel in the new Airbus A380 aircraft will be offered a total of 58 seats in the business class cabin.

The new Airbus A380 aircraft in fact boasts of a total of 615 seats, more than what is being currently provided by any other airline in the world.

The existing two Airbus A380 aircrafts being operated by Emirates are configured with three class, offering 489 and 517 seats respectively. The airline has however not compromised with legroom space in economy class cabin.

The newly introduced two-class double-decker Airbus A380 aircraft has already been launched for commercial operations between Dubai and Copenhagen effective from December 1 this year.
