Emirates to launch direct Boston-Dubai service

Emirates, the premier airline of the Gulf announced its plans to launch nonstop flights between its hub in Dubai and Boston. The airline, which operates service to a number of important destinations worldwide, said it would launch the new route on March 10, 2014.

The airline will deploy Boeing 777-200LR planes to ply between the two cities. This aircraft offers a seating capacity of 266 passengers. The airline will give customers an alternative to travel on cheap business class flights for direct operations between Logan International Airport and Dubai International Airport.

This announcement comes soon after Turkish Airlines declared its plans to launch Boston-Istanbul route from next May. With the commencement of Boston route, Emirates would establish connectivity to eight United States destinations from its hub in the United Arab Emirates.

This launch is significant in terms of the carrier’s expansion plans. It has been widening its reach steadily this year. Besides Boston, the carrier announced its decision to launch four new routes earlier this year. These cities include Algiers, Tokyo, Stockholm, and Warsaw. At present, it operates flights to more than 130 destinations across 60 countries worldwide.
