Emirates to launch Dubai-Washington DC flights

Leading Middle East carrier Emirates recently announced to launch flights to Washington DC from Dubai effective September 12, 2012. The decision has come following UAE national carrier Etihad Airways’ announcement to begin flights to Washington Dulles.

Passengers will get opportunity to book air tickets at competitive rates with the launch of Dubai-Washington flights by the two Middle East carriers.

Emirates in a statement said it will be deploying a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to operate flights on the new route. The aircraft will be configured in three classes – 8 private suites in First Class, 42 lie-flat beds in Business Class and 304 seats in Economy Class.

Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief CEO of Emirates, said that the new route will boost trade ties between the UAE and US, and increase opportunities for business, industry and tourism.

Emirates disclosed that it will continue to mark out new cities across the US as it looks to compete and expand, where the presence has been largely muted.
