Emirates to launch its longest nonstop flight to Panama City

Emirates Airline recently announced it will be launching its nonstop flights to Panama City from Dubai starting early next year. The airline said that this will be its longest nonstop flight in the world and would involve flight duration of 17 hours and 35 minutes.

A spokesperson of Emirates Airline said that the nonstop flights between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Panama City’s Tocumen International Airport (PTY) would start operating from February 1, 2016. The two destinations will be served with the help of a Boeing 777-200LR aircraft configured in three class cabins.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline, said, “Panama City would be the airline’s first destination gateway in Central America. The passengers travelling with the airline would be offered convenient option for travelling to/from Dubai onward to destinations throughout Central America, the northern part of South America and the Caribbean. It is indeed a matter of great delight that Emirates will now become the only commercial airline to offer a daily service by operating the world’s longest nonstop flight.”

Media reports said that Emirates Airline later this year will be all set to launch four additional routes to its international network. The airline will begin flights to Orlando (USA) and Mashhad (Iran) in September, while flights to Bamako (Mali) and Bologna would be launched in the months of October and November 2015 respectively.

The reports further stated that the airline has been making extensive efforts to increase its capacity further to many destinations. The airline recently increased its capacity on various routes, including London, Melbourne, Madrid and Birmingham.
