Ethiopian Starts Direct Dreamliner Service to Shanghai

Ethiopian Airlines, a key player in the African aviation industry, is all set to offer new direct business class flights to Shanghai, the business capital of China. The airline from March 29, 2014 will start this new direct service.

Ethiopian Airlines will operate the flights from Addis Ababa Bole International Airport to Shanghai Pudong International Airport using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The airline will offer 24 Business class Seats and 246 Economy Class Seats to passengers on this new route. Boeing 787 Dreamliner is known for its plush comfort, low noise levels, big windows, additional leg room, improved lighting and higher ceiling.

Ethiopian Airlines first started flying to China way back in 1973. At present the airline offers 28 weekly flights between China and Africa and flies to Guangzhou, Beijing and Hangzhou. Ethiopian connects four of China's major cities to 48 African cities and 2 Brazilian cities.

Ethiopian Airlines is a recipient of many prestigious awards. In 2013 the airline won African Airlines Association's award for the Best Airline in Africa. It also has received Best Business Class Airline in Africa by Chinese travelers and is accredited as Africa's Best Staff Service airline by non other than SKYTRAX.
