Etihad Airways to begin A380 flights to JFK before schedule

Etihad Airways recently announced it will be launching its new Airbus A380 flights to New York JFK from Abu Dhabi a week ahead of schedule. The airline had originally scheduled the flight on the route from December 1, 2015. However, according to the new schedule the flights between Abu Dhabi International Airport and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport will start operating effective from November 23.

The airline will operate twice daily services between Abu Dhabi and New York JFK. A spokesperson of Etihad Airways also said that the new Airbus A380 superjumbo being launched on the route will be featuring the airline’s exclusive three-room ‘The Residence’ suite. The airline will however be offering The Residence suite only on its flights EY103 /102.

Apart from The Residence suite, the customers planning to book business class tickets to New York JFK from Abu Dhabi would be offered 70 fully lie-flat bed seats in its premium business class cabin. The A3380 superjumbo would also be offering nine seats in first class and 417 seats in economy class cabin.

Providing schedule of the flights in which The Residence suite will be offered, Etihad Airways in a statement said that the outbound Flight EY103 would depart from Abu Dhabi International Airport at 03:20 hours and arrive at New York JFK at 09:10 hours. The return Flight EY102 would depart from New York JFK at 14:30 hours and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 12:15 hours next day.

Etihad Airways will however be operating flights EY100/101 between New York JFK and Abu Dhabi with the help of a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
