Etihad, JetBlue ink codeshare deal, to benefit business traveler

Etihad Airways has inked a codeshare agreement with JetBlue Airways. Both the airlines will use the agreement to operate flights on domestic as well as international sectors. The Abu Dhabi based airline is keen to expand its footprints across the United States. It is one of the prominent airlines in the world that provides its customers a luxurious experience onboard its business class.

Its alliance with the domestic airline of the United States comes close on the heels of the fact that JetBlue announced its premium class seats recently. The local airline now offers business class tickets to its passengers on certain sectors. This alliance is sure to benefit the business travelers in the longer run with smooth connections to far off destinations within the U.S. The American carrier is set to launch its premium seats named Mint in June to cities including New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

Many travelers from the Asian countries and Middle East visit different U.S. gateways for business each year. The high demand to the North American nation is attracting airlines around the world to launch new routes, increase frequencies, or sign codeshare agreements with local airlines in the country. These means give access to international airlines to penetrate deeper into the untouched sectors. Moreover, as far as the gulf airline is considered, it is hugely popular for its excellent services in the business segment. Mint cabins will compliment its service, as they comprise 16 lie-flat seats, four of which are private suites. These private suites will guarantee higher privacy to the passengers.

However, this agreement is waiting for a green signal from the concerned authorities. Besides, the domestic routes, the airlines will together operate service to international destinations. These include service from New York to Bogota in Colombia, Montego Bay in Jamaica, Punta Cana, Santiago, and Santo Domingo in Dominican Republic.
