EVA Air launching new flights to Houston from July 1 next year

Taiwan’s second largest carrier EVA Air recently announced it will be launching its new flights to Houston from Taipei. The service between the two cities will be operational effective from July 1, 2015. The airline will be operating four round-trip flights every week.

The airline presently considers North America as its important market. Ever since EVA Air deployed its two new Boeing 777-300ER aircrafts on some North American routes, there has been no looking back for the airline.

Earlier, in June this year the leading Taiwanese carrier increased its frequencies to New York from five times weekly service to daily. The airline is now operating flights on Mondays and Tuesdays as well on the route since June 3.

The airline deployed its second Boeing aircraft on Taipei-Los Angeles route with flights being operated on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The airline launched three additional flights on the route with the total number of flights increasing to 17 every week.

Apart from these routes, the airline also increased its frequencies to various North American destinations as well including Toronto, Vancouver and San Francisco in June this year. The frequencies to San Francisco were increased from the existing 12 to 14 round-trip flights per week. With a significant rise in frequencies, the airline is now operating 55 flights every week instead of the earlier 45 flights.
 
The airline is also planning to launch new flights to Chicago in 2016. Cheng Chuan-yi, President of EVA Air, said that most flights on North American routes are at 80-90 percent capacity, and therefore the concept of peak or slow season doesn’t as such apply to North America.
