EVA Air to increase weekly frequencies to USA by 2016 end

Taiwan’s second-largest carrier EVA Air, which has already placed orders for 26 medium- and long-haul aircrafts, has announced it will launch flights from Taipei Taoyuan to Chicago O’Hare and Washington Dulles in 2016. The airline will also add two new destinations in Europe in its network. These include Barcelona and Milan Malpensa. It is also likely to begin flights to New Delhi and Cebu as well in the next 12 months.

EVA Air presently offers a total of 53 weekly flights services to several destinations in the United States. The airline said that the weekly frequencies to nonstop destinations will be increased to 77 by 2016 end. The U.S. cities where the airline is currently serving include Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, New York and Houston.

Flights to Los Angeles from Taipei are conducted thrice daily. The airline is offering twice daily flights to San Francisco, which will be increased to thrice daily service by the end of next year. Seattle-Tacoma and New York JFK are being served with once daily service. However, the airline will be increasing the frequency to New York JFK, and will operate twice daily flights by the end of 2016. The airline is currently operating four-time weekly flights to Houston Intercontinental, which will now be increased to six-time weekly service by next year-end. All the destinations in the United States are being served with the help of its Boeing 777-300 aircrafts.

Media reports said that Taiwan’s national carrier China Airlines is presently offering thrice weekly flights services to New Delhi from Taipei Taoyuan. EVA Air will now make New Delhi its new destination in Asia.
