Taiwan’s second largest carrier EVA Air has announced it will be launching nonstop flights to Taipei from Chicago starting from November 3, 2016. The flights on the route will be operated four times per week. The airline will be making use of Boeing 777-300ER aircrafts to conduct flight services between the two destinations. The aircraft is configured with a total seating capacity of 333 passengers and offers three travel classes – Royal Laurel or Business Class, Elite or Premium Economy and Economy Class.
A spokesperson of EVA Air said that the customers traveling on Chicago-Taipei route would get more flexible travel options with adjusted schedules and more daytime flights. There will also be increased frequencies on existing routes. The westbound early morning departures and arrivals and eastbound nighttime departures and arrivals have been designed to offer convenient connectivity to business travelers in order that the workdays can be best used by them for meetings and appointments.
Providing schedule of new services, EVA Air stated that Flight BR55 would make its departure from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport at 12.20 am and arrive at Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport at 6.00 am next day. The inbound flights would be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The return Flight BR56 would depart from Taipei at 7.50 pm and reach Chicago at 7.40 pm local time same day. The outbound flight would be operated on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
According to the airline, Chicago would be its eighth gateway in North America. The other North American destinations being currently served from Taipei include Seattle, San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Houston, Vancouver and Toronto. EVA Air indicated that as it continues to expand its operations in the important North American market, it would be adding thrice weekly daytime flights to its current daily flights to New York starting from July 7, 2016. The airline will be further increasing its frequencies to New York with twice daily flights services from October 30 this year.
