Fall Art Festivals in Fort Lauderdale Hit the Streets

Take advantage of airline prices this fall and take yourself or the entire family out to Fort Lauderdale. Aside from the more than desirable weather, Fort Lauderdale offers art festivals on the streets of the city where local and not-so-local artists show off their exhibits and even compete for a prize.

Las Olas Art Fair and Festival
Last minute flights are booked all over the country for the Las Olas Art Fair and Festival. This annual event and art fair is hosted directly on Las Olas Boulevard over the weekend. Admission is free and gates open Saturday morning at 10:00am and close up Sunday at 5:00pm.

With the city of Fort Lauderdale as its backdrop, the Las Olas Art Fair brings in artists from all over the country on flight deals to the fair. This is the prime opportunity for new artists to make a name for themselves and even sell a few pieces of their work at the fair’s exhibit.

Artists in all crafts make their way on flights to Fort Lauderdale for the Las Olas Art Fair. As you stroll through the rows of booths you will find handcrafted jewelry, life-size sculptures, oil and acrylic paints, photographs and even ceramic items for the home.

If you are unable to make the fall event, don’t worry. You can still find cheap flights to Fort Lauderdale for the springtime fair hosted in March.

Annual Hortt Memorial Exhibition
Take advantage of airline discount this fall and find your way to the annual Hortt Memorial Exhibition hosted in Fort Lauderdale this September. Named after the famed south Florida art collector, M. Allen Hortt, this competition and exhibition has been hosted in his name in honor of the artist who has been on display at the Museum of Art for over 40 years.

Hosted by the Broward Art Guild in Fort Lauderdale, the Hortt Memorial Exhibition is one of the oldest art competitions in the city. Artists from all over the country take cheap tickets to Fort Lauderdale to display their work and hopefully take the competition.

Find the competition at the Wilton Manors in Fort Lauderdale and make sure to put in your vote for the winning painting.  Awards include recognition by art critics, gallery owners and even the media just for signing up as well as the possibility of winning the grand award for the festival itself.
