Families with small children not to board early on United Airlines flights now

Families with small children booking air tickets and boarding United Airlines flights will now have to follow a different rule.

United Airlines recently announced that families with small children traveling on the airline will no longer be able to board early. The announcement has come just in time for summer vacation.

Charles Hobart, Spokesman for United Airlines, said that the policy was adopted last month and is being implemented now. The policy is aimed at simplifying the boarding process and reducing the overall number of boarding groups.

The airline said that families with children who are not traveling in first or business class will now have to board with their ticketed boarding groups.

However, other U.S. carriers such as JetBlue Airways, Delta Air Lines and Virgin America are still pursuing with the policy of allowing families with small children board before most coach (Economy) class passengers.

The move has come at a time as various U.S. carriers are increasingly charging fees for passengers to board early and sit in certain seats.
