Finnair into codeshare agreement with Bangkok Airways

Finland’s flag carrier Finnair recently signed a codeshare agreement with Bangkok Airways under which it will provide services to key destinations in Thailand, as well as to Singapore and Hong Kong.

After sealing the deal on January 15 this year, the Helsinki-based carrier will now be able to put its code on Bangkok Airways flights to Samui, Phuket and Chiang Mai from Bangkok, as well as on flights between Hong Kong-Samui and Singapore-Samui.

Hannu Sundberg, Vice President for Airline Partnerships at Finnair, said that the new codeshare agreement will make it easier for the passengers to reach the amazing Thai island Koh Samui. He said that the daily nonstop flights from Helsinki to Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong will each connect with Bangkok Airways services to Koh Samui. According to Sundberg, the new partnership between Finnair and Bangkok Airways will open new avenues to Finnair’s passengers to visit Thailand as well as gain easy connections to other destinations in Asia.

Expressing his views, Captain Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth, President of Bangkok Airways, said that visitors from around the world consider Chiang Mai, Koh Samui and Phuket as among favorite destinations. He said that the airline’s partnership with Finnair will prove to be quite successful.
