Finnair to Boost Its Double Daily Service to Hong Kong from April

This winter season, Finnair is introducing non-stop jetliners between HEL and HKG. The added frequency is soon to begin from next year in April 2019 and the service would be handled two times per day.

At present, the 10 times weekly service will get expanded and soon the frequency will get boosted to 11 weekly flights starting from 3rd November. Later from 10th December, the frequency will be increased to 12. Then from 1st April 2019, the service would be operated twice a day.

Stan Kwong, Finnair’s regional head commented, ‘the current added frequencies for our service at Hong Kong are considered to be the evidence to the recognition of our product in the Hong Kong market, Asia as well as Greater China area. Besides a boost in our market share, we are also witnessing a growth of travel in destinations between Europe and Asia in the present years and we are believing to continue the trend in the coming years.’

Airbus A350-900, the airline’s newest aircraft will be used to operate the newly adjoined flights as well as the current 10 weekly flights. The new aircraft has two distinct configurations. The one is equipped with 32 business class seats whereas the other has 46 seats. Presently, the second one is positioned on the route. The business class is designed in a 1-2-1 herringbone configuration which enables the flyers to enjoy the comfort of fully flat-bed seats and uninterrupted access to the aisle.
