Five new hotels to open in Downtown Sarasota by 2016

Downtown Sarasota is bracing to provide varied options for travelers to stay in a couple of years. The city awaits a slight makeover with at least five new hotels scheduled to open by 2016. Media reports recently provided a brief outlook of all that is in store for the residents of Sarasota as well as business visitors to city in future.

A new Hotel Sarasota is coming up soon in downtown Sarasota. It will be among the five modern hotels to be constructed in the city. According to Jonathan Parks, renowned Sarasota architect, the Hotel Sarasota will be situated at the corner of Cocoanut and North Palm avenues. The hotel’s strategic location will make walking easier for the customers through downtown and onwards to the bayfront.

Jonathan is quite elated at the project. He said that hotel will provide awesome views from wherever you look at it. He said that whether you look to the curb from the street, and to the sidewalk from the curb, and to the front of building from the sidewalk, the hotel will look simply amazing. It will be unparalleled in the downtown.

The construction of another hotel Aloft Sarasota is presently underway. The Aloft Sarasota hotel is being built at the corner of Ringling Boulevard and South Palm Avenue.

Media reports also said that Westin Sarasota hotel is to be constructed adjacent to the Vue Sarasota Bay development at the corner of Tamiami Trail and North Gulfstream. Further, the Embassy Suites will also be coming up in downtown Sarasota. It will comprise of 180 suites, above 250 space parking garage and 6,000 square feet of meeting space.

Younger residents of Sarasota are quite hopeful about the new developments. They are expecting downtown to become even more vibrant than previously. An elated resident said that Sarasota is indeed adorable. The city surely needs some modernization just in the same way as Atlanta and Utah.

It may be noted that most of the hotels in Sarasota are either run down on 41, or simply catering to a clientele that only wants to stay on the beach. The downtown area doesn’t have many hotels. The new additions are welcome and a positive sign for downtown Sarasota.
