Five top hotel bosses meet in LA to discuss the latest trends

Hotel industry is an integral part of the hospitality industry. While the industry has seen many ups and lows in the recent past, analysts believe the year ahead will shine bright for it. As such, hotels across the United States are upbeat about the year ahead. In addition, many hotels within the country are turning tech savvy and are using innovative means to entice customers and stay ahead in the race.

The industry on one hand is relishing the fact that the number of travelers has increased in the recent past. On the other hand, is facing challenges from ever increasing technically versed travelers looking for amenities to satiate their everlasting quest. Just recently top bosses of five prominent names in the industry caught up with each other to discuss the nuisances of the changing face of the industry.

These Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) met each other at the Americas Lodging Investment Summit in the city of Los Angeles. The third yearly seminar brought CEOs of Best Western David Kong, Marriott International Arne Sorenson, Choice Hotels International Stephen Joyce, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants Michael A. Depatie, and InterContinental Hotels Group President of the Americas Kirk Kinsell face to face with each other.

These high-ranking officials discussed cliché topics like occupancy rate, daily rates etc. Apart from their regular themes, subjects like Twitter, Wi-Fi, Technology, and Room Service dominated their conversations. The course of their discussion clearly indicates the changing needs of the customer, current demands of the industry and reiterates the fact that Customer is King!
