Flying couples to get double beds on Qatar Airways’ QSuites

Media reports said that the “QSuites” would in fat be pod-like cabins equipped with sliding doors for privacy. Few customers would also be offered the facility of double beds to be created from a pair of middle seats upon request. Apart from this, the quasi double-bed suite can also be transformed to a “family room” as well for seating up to four persons after removing the center partition. This facility is for entertaining fellow travelers whenever desired. The QSuites also have big video screens with a wide range of films, games and music for in-flight entertainment.

According to the reports, the seats in QSuites took two years to be designed. The luxurious seats are of hand-stitched Italian leather and satin rose gold. When traveling on overnight flights the customers would also be provided White Company brand pajamas, in addition to amenity kits from luggage brand Bric. Among other amenities to be offered to the customers in QSuites include “Anytime Dining” (Eat whenever you want) and “Do Not Disturb” signs on the door akin to a real hotel room.

Qatar Airways in a statement said that the new QSuites would be initially offered on Doha-London route on the airline’s new Boeing 777-300 aircrafts. The airline also stated that the new seats would be installed on one long-haul aircraft every month, which will also include those on the latest Airbus A350-1000 aircrafts.

Meanwhile, Qatar Airways is not the only one to install QSuites in its business class cabins. Leading U.S. carrier Delta Air Lines is planning to install its own version of enclosed beds in business class on Airbus A350 aircrafts, which would be launched in September this year.
