Four Alabama hotels among top in North America for on-site golf

A recent study conducted on behalf of renowned global hotel chain Marriott has acknowledged Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Alabama as among the best places in North America to house hotels/resorts offering best golf amenities on-site.

The study said that four hotels at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail have emerged as among the top five Marriott or Renaissance golf resorts presently in North America. These hotels have attained top rankings as the golfers staying here are completely satisfied with the golf amenities being offered.

According to the study, the Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa, situated in Hoover, made it to the top with No. 1 ranking for the year 2014. It was earlier home to the PGA Champions Tour’s Regions Charity Classic. It is also presently among the 52 properties of Marriott or Renaissance in North America offering golf on-site.

Among other hotels to rank second, third and fourth include the Auburn/Opelika Marriott Hotel and Conference Center at Grand National, the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort and Spa in Vedra Beach, and the Marriott in Prattville at Capitol Hill, respectively. The Grand Hotel Marriott Resort in Point Clear came fifth.

Marriott International hired a research firm to determine the rankings after assessing all of its 448 full-service Marriott and Renaissance hotels presently located in various cities of North America.

Presently, the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail has a total of 26 golf courses spread over 11 sites across Alabama.
