Frontier Airlines Aspen service future uncertain after big loss

Frontier Airlines future flights to Aspen faces uncertainty now with the airline suffering big losses in Q2 2011.

According to media reports, Republic Airways, the parent company of Frontier Airlines, reported a loss of US$15 million in Q2 2011 thus sending its stock tumbling last week hitting a year-long low.

The airline has been suffering losses for some time now, hence raising questions about the continuance of flight services to Aspen.

The cloud on the future of Frontier Airlines’ Aspen service continues to hover even as American Airlines recently announced that it will start seasonal service from Los Angeles and Dallas to Aspen.

Media reports also said that Frontier Airlines is planning to sell its fleet of four Bombardier turboprop aircrafts that it currently operates to Aspen.

Frontier Airlines is the leading low cost carrier in the US providing cheap airline deals to its customers regularly.
