Frontier Airlines launches six new nonstop flights from Atlanta

Frontier Airlines has recently launched its nonstop flights to six new destinations from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). Top airport officials called a press conference and provided details about the airport’s expansion to the gathered mediapersons.

The officials informed that the Denver-based low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines has decided to increase its nonstop services from Atlanta airport thus bringing the total number of destinations to 16 from the existing six.
The airline has now started operating flights to six new destinations effective from April 30, 2015. The daily nonstop routes where the airline will be conducting its flight services from Atlanta include Minneapolis/St. Paul, New Orleans, New York LaGuardia, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Cincinnati.

A spokesperson of Frontier Airlines said that the airline is excited to grow the number of services from Atlanta going to 16 from the current six starting from April 30. This has also made Frontier Airlines the third largest carrier in terms of flights departures this summer. Moreover, Atlanta is now the third largest hub of the airline after Denver and Chicago O’Hare.

Low cost carrier Spirit Airlines, which is in direct competition with Frontier Airlines, has also started expanding its operations from Atlanta. Media reports said that Spirit Airlines announced in February this year that it will be adding nine new routes from Atlanta thus bringing the total number of nonstop routes to 15 from Atlanta.

Travel experts contend that Atlanta is fast transforming into the newest test market for the low cost carriers in the United States. The comments of the travel experts come close on the heels of the two low cost carriers – Frontier Airlines and Spirit Airlines – expanding their operations from the city.
