Frontier Airlines launching flights to Atlanta and Denver

Frontier Airlines recently announced it will be expanding its service from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport and launching nonstop flights to Atlanta and Denver. The airline’s move is distinct from its earlier plans of ramping up service to destinations such as Wilmington and Trenton, which are perceived to be undeserved markets where competition is negligible or completely lacking.

By launching new O’Hare- Atlanta and O’Hare-Denver routes, Frontier Airlines will now be directly pitting itself against legacy carriers Chicago-based United Airlines and Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines, both of which operate on Denver and Atlanta routes.

The nonstop flights to the two destinations, among others, are scheduled to be launched from O’Hare airport in October 2014. The airline’s move is aimed at providing passengers seamless connectivity to Atlanta, Denver and various other destinations from Chicago O’Hare, the second busiest airport in the United States.

Frontier Airlines is presently offering domestic flights from Chicago-Midway airport, which is situated nearby downtown and is mostly dominated by many LCCs.

Travel experts said that they are completely at a loss and unable to decode or forecast Frontier Airlines’ future plans. They said that the airline is presently doing many unusual things across the United States. Sometimes the airline is seen focusing on small markets, while it is also simultaneously launching major routes and trying to directly compete with legacy carriers like United Airlines and Delta Air Lines. They concluded that with these bizarre activities it is quite difficult to predict the motive or plans that Frontier Airlines has for itself.
