Frontier Airlines to resume flights to Sioux City after 6 years

More cheap flights options will now be available for passengers taking flights out of Sioux Gateway Airport for traveling to western destinations. The airline has recently announced it will be resuming its flights from Sioux City airport.

Frontier Airlines will resume its services after six years when it abruptly stopped its flights here. The airline, which is renowned to offer cheap airfares, will begin flights from Sioux City to Denver starting from June 12, 2014. The airline will be providing flights services on Sioux City-Denver route thrice weekly.

The tickets for new flights are already up for sale. Frontier Airlines will now be the second carrier to offer services from Sioux Gateway Airport. The airline will also be the only carrier to operate direct flights from the city. American Airlines has already been operating twice daily flights between Sioux City and Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

Curt Miller, Sioux Gateway Airport Director, said that the thrice-weekly service to Denver would now be complementing the airport’s Chicago flights. He said that the resuming of flights by Frontier Airlines has come as a boon to the airport as this will help it to regain recreational travelers once again who had until now opted to travel from other airports.

Frontier Airlines will be operating flights between Sioux Gateway Airport and Denver International Airport thrice weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The return flights from the Mile High City would be on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. The airline would be operating 138-seat Airbus A319 aircraft on Sioux City-Denver route.
