Fête de la Musique festival – Biggest musical event in Manila

I am a music aficionado and have long heard about the Fête de la Musique festival being held in Manila for the past several years now.  Last year I traveled from Los Angeles to particularly attend this famous event. The Fête de la Musique festival was originally conceptualized in France, but is now being celebrated in nearly 100 countries worldwide simultaneously on the same day.

The Fête de la Musique festival is also being held in Manila. It is presently one of the best as well as biggest musical events of its kind in the city. This gala musical event sees the participation of about 150 bands representing different musical genres. This exciting event is organized every year in June and held on a single night. The peculiarity of this event is that it is held on seven different stages simultaneously in one venue.

Being a part of this festival is great fun. The music belted out at this festival is a cocktail of everything in itself. The music is derived from the best of everything – ethnic percussion, reggae, electronic, alternative, blues, rock and jazz. The musical renditions are given by renowned Filipino musicians as well as many international stars.

The Fête de la Musique festival is held in Makati City. The festival starts from 4 pm and continues up till 2 am. The main stage of the festival is at the A. Venue Mall Open Parking, situated along Makati Avenue. Many bands attended the festival last year. Some of the prominent ones included Hidden Nikki, Yolanda Moon, Bayang Barrios Lady-I, Noli Aurillo, SinoSikat, Up Dharma Down, Razorback, and TV5’s Lourd De Veyra.
