Indonesia’s national carrier Garuda Indonesia has launched its new business class service after taking the delivery of latest Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The airline had earlier placed orders for four A330-300s, but has now received its first aircraft.
The new Airbus A330-300 aircraft is configured in two classes – Business Class and Economy Class. The aircraft will be featuring 24 business class seats and 263 economy class seats. The business class cabin has been named ‘Super Diamond’ and is configured in a 1-2-1 layout.
The customers booking business class tickets for travel in Super Diamond cabin would be offered fully flat-bed seats with direct aisle access. Among other amenities offered in business class include head-rest, adjustable arm-rest, 16-inch touchscreen LCD with handset/remote for in-flight entertainment, a mini bar, integrated baby bassinet stowage, reading light, meal table, power outlet and double USB plug.
The airline will also be taking care of its economy class customers as well. The amenities to be offered in economy class cabin include 11-inch LCD touchscreen, foot-rest, a 4-inch articulating recline ability, a power outlet and a USB plug.
Meanwhile, Garuda Indonesia recently received its last Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The airline had earlier placed orders for a total of 10 Boeing 777-300ER aircrafts in 2013. The aircraft is configured with a capacity of a total of 393 seats. However, the tenth aircraft which the airline received lately would be offering 26 seats in business class and 367 seats in economy class.
A spokesperson of Garuda Indonesia said that six out of 10 Boeing 777-300ER aircrafts are configured in three classes and offer First Class cabin as well. The six B777-300ERs would be offering eight seats in First Class, 38 seats in Business Class and 268 seats in Economy Class. The airline is presently undertaking a fleet revitalization program and would be taking delivery of a total of 16 new aircrafts throughout 2016. These include four ATR72-600s, eight Airbus A320s, four Airbus A330-300s and one Boeing 777-300ER. The airline expects to possess a total of 188 aircrafts in its fleet by the end of 2016.
