British Airways recently added a sixth “enhanced” meal option for its economy class customers travelling to long-haul international destinations. The airline started offering new meal option to its World Traveller (Economy Class) booking flights from London Heathrow effective from October 26, 2015. The customers would now be able to sample the “Taste of the Far East”, which will be available at an affordable price.
The pre-paid menu would be prominently featuring chicken pay ca paw with egg rice, prawn crackers with sweet chilli sauce, vegetarian sushi and green tea tiramisu. It may be noted that the airline is already offering five different kinds of pre-paid enhanced meals introduced in May this year. These include Vegetarian Kitchen, Healthy Choice, Great British Breakfast, Taste of Britain and Gourmet Dining. The pre-paid meals are required to be booked between 30 days and 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure of their flights.
The new pre-paid enhanced meal option would be available to economy class customers booking business class tickets from London Heathrow to Miami, Atlanta, Denver, San Diego, Phoenix, Mexico City, Austin, Houston, Dallas and Seattle.
Colin Talbot, British Airways’ Head of Catering, said, “The airline will continue to offer complimentary food on board the flights. The pre-enhanced meal options have been introduced to offer greater choice to World Traveller customers when flying with the airline. The passengers can avail the opportunity to taste sumptuous dishes that perfectly combine good quality ingredients and current food trends.”
