Gulf Air expands Italian operations, launches flights to Rome

Gulf Air, Bahrain’s national flag carrier, has further expanded its operations into Italy. The airline recently launched flights to Rome from the Bahraini capital city of Manama.

The opening of new Manama-Rome route makes it the second destination in Italy for Gulf Air. Initially, the Bahraini carrier began operations into Italy by launching flights to Milan Malpensa.

The airline in a statement said that Gulf Air will operate Rome flights four-times per week on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Flights to Rome from Manama will depart at 2.00 am.

Samer Majali, Chief Executive of Gulf Air, said that expanding of flight operations in Europe is aimed at targeting airline’s future growth. Launching of flights to Rome offers visitors from the Gulf to explore the region at the most competitive airfares in the market today, said Majali.

Majali further said that there has already been a positive feedback from Gulf Air’s customers on Milan. He said that considering the success with Milan flights, the carrier hopes to achieve similar success with the flights to Rome and all that this incredible city has to offer.

Earlier, in December 2011 Gulf Air also unveiled flights to Entebbe (Uganda) from Manama.
