Hainan Airlines adding nonstop Boston-Shanghai flights June 20

Hainan Airlines recently announced it will be adding nonstop flights between Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) in June this year.
 
The flights between the two cities will start operating thrice weekly from June 20. The airline will also be increasing its nonstop service being currently operated from Boston to Beijing.

Hainan Airlines in a statement said that it will be deploying two Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircrafts to provide flights services on Boston-Shanghai route. The flights will depart from Boston Logan during the afternoons of Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday every week. The duration of the westbound flight will be approximately 15 hours 10 minutes, while the eastbound flight will be of 14 hours 40 minutes duration.

The airline also indicated that it will increase its frequencies on Boston-Beijing route. Hainan Airlines said that its flights services between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) will now become a daily service effective from May 1, 2015. The airline has been conducting four-time weekly nonstop flights between the two cities, which was launched on June 20, 2014.

Hainan Airlines is presently the largest private carrier in China. The airline has also indicated that it is planning to enter into partnership with JetBlue Airways for providing seamless connectivity through Boston for customers coming from the U.S. East Coast.

Ji Chun Liu, Director of Hainan Airlines’ International Department, said, “The opening of a new nonstop route between Boston Logan and Shanghai will boost international trade, and provide convenient and affordable travel options to the people of the United States and China.”
