Leading Chinese carrier Hainan Airlines recently launched its first ever direct flights services to Alberta province in Canada. The airline has now started operating its nonstop flight between Beijing and Calgary. The flights between the two destinations will be operated thrice weekly. According to the airline, the flights will make its departure from Calgary International Airport at 3.05 pm (local time) and arrive in Beijing at 7.10 pm (local time) next day. The return flight would depart from Beijing Capital Airport at 4.00 pm (local time) and reach Calgary at 3.05 (local time) same day.
Hou Wei, Vice President of Hainan Airlines, said, “The company is delighted to launch its nonstop flights to Beijing from Calgary. This will be the airline’s second destination in Canada. The airline is presently operating flights between Beijing and Toronto since 2010. It is fervently hoped that the new Calgary-Beijing route would be further strengthening cultural and economic relations between Canada and China, and also benefit our valued customers with excellent products and services.”
The new flights between Calgary and Beijing have also been welcomed by Canadian authorities as well. Deron Bilous, Canada’s Minister of Economic Development and Trade, said, “Now that direct flights have started from one of mainland China’s most important aviation centres, the Chinese travelers would find Alberta more attractive and easily accessible than before. The new service is expected to play a significant role in boosting the flourishing tourism industry in Alberta.”

The airline is currently operating nine direct flights services to key North American destinations, including Los Angeles, Chicago, San Jose, Seattle, Boston, Toronto and Calgary.
