Hainan Airlines launching nonstop Changsha-LAX flights Jan 21

Hainan Airlines has expanded its service to the U.S. West Coast. The airline recently announced it will be launching nonstop flights to Los Angeles from Changsha, the capital city of China’s Hunan Province. The new service to be launched from January 21, 2016 will be the airline’s only nonstop service to inland China from Los Angeles.

Media reports said that the new Changsha-Los Angeles route is part of the airline’s large-scale expansion plan in North America. Hainan Airlines is presently operating nonstop flights to many cities on the U.S. west coast. The nonstop flights services are being conducted to Shanghai and Beijing from Seattle-Tacoma, and between Beijing and Silicon Valley. These services are complementing the airline’s direct flights on Shanghai-Boston, Toronto-Boston and Beijing-Chicago routes.

All the routes in North America, including the new Los Angeles-Changsha service, will be served by Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircrafts. Hainan Airlines has also become the only airline in China to operate most routes with Boeing 787 Dreamliners between North America and China. Hainan Airlines in a statement said the outbound flight will depart from Los Angeles International Airport’s Terminal 2 at 12:35 pm on Mondays and Thursdays and arrives at Changsha Huanghua International Airport at 7:20 pm next day. The return flight will make its departure from Changsha at 1:00 pm and arrives at Los Angeles at 10:35 am the same day. To celebrate the launch of nonstop flights between Los Angeles and Changsha, Hainan Airlines is offering special promotional fare in both economy class and business class for travel through April 30, 2016.
