Hainan Airlines presented World's Best Business Class 2014 award

Hainan Airlines has won the coveted “World’s Leading Airline-Business Class 2014” award at the recently concluded World Travel Awards. The Grand Final Gala Ceremony was organized at the Cuisinart Golf Resort & Spa in Anguilla on December 7. The airline emerged at the top among the 15 leading airlines from within China and globally. The competitors in this category included Air New Zealand, Cathay Pacific Airways, Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways among others.

The award was received by Xu Fei, Hainan Airlines’ General Manager of in-flight services. The award was presented by Graham E. Cooke, Founder and President of World Travel Awards.

While presenting the award, the WTA founder said that Hainan Airlines has been playing a pioneering role in the global aviation industry. The airline was presented with the award for its excellent products and innovative services.

Renowned international carriers such as Virgin Atlantic Airways, Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines have won the award in business class category on earlier occasions.

Apart from winning this present title, the airline had earlier been presented with “Asia’s Leading Airline-Business Class” in October 2014. These two awards presented to the Hainan Airlines this year comes close on the heels of “Asia’s Leading Airline-Economy Class” and “World’s Leading Airline-Economy Class” won by the airline in 2013. All these titles were won during the World Travel Awards annual ceremony.

Hainan Airlines has been expanding its North American network. The airline launched its flights to Boston in June this year, thus making it the fourth U.S. destination in its U.S. network. The other three North American destinations where the airline is providing flights services include Seattle, Chicago and Toronto.
